Decorating With Decals 101

Decorating With Decals 101
The walls are bare, the thought of painting designs on the wall makes you laugh out loud.... or cringe!

You want to add flair, color and style to your home but you're on a budget, and hiring a pro to design your space is DEFINITELY out.... so now what?

Custom decals are the hot new trend for adding your own personality and accenting your existing decor without HAVING to use paint! Trendy wall decals aren't 'stickers'! They are removable wall art!

They stay in place till you remove them, but don't harm most surfaces and are a perfect solution for decorating an apartment or dorm, kids room, living or dining room, bed or bathroom!

Limited only by your imagination, but if you're experiencing a"creative block", just email or call us, we'll help!

Whatever your style – Parisian, Mod, Bohemian, Classic,
– there’s a decal for you!

What You Should Know About Decals:
  • Wall color may change the color / appearance of your decal, especially if it is applied to a darker color of paint.
  • Positioning the decal is always a question. Quotes & names are usually applied mid-wall, over a crib, dining room table, over a doorway or a head board. Birds usually "float" in the middle of a wall.
  • But if you have a tree or flower, a person, building or something that is typically found near the ground, you may want to position the decal closer to the floor.
  • Exceptions? Of course! Tree branches can 'sprout' from a corner wall or a shelf, a flower can 'grow' from behind a couch or headboard.
  • Or you can frame a mirror, cabinet or family photo for a custom look.

Will It Harm The Paint?
Typically, no. These decals are designed to adhere to interior paint. But, if your paint is cracked or peeling, there is a possibility that some paint could come off with the decal. It would be best to test a small area first.

Can I Reuse the Decals?
That depends on which kind you buy. Some are reusable, some aren't - just ask before purchasing if this is important to you!

My advice - Decals may be difficult to salvage upon removal. If you are successful at removing a decal without stretching or tearing, you still have to keep them from sticking to themselves, and they must be kept free of dust or debris, which will cause the adhesive to fail.
